First, I climbed on the kitchen sink and poked it...I was trying to annoy it enough so that it would just unwrap itself and fall outside to the ground where I could then run around and catch it. When that plan wasn't working...
Plan B: find a fake ladder
I searched the area for something I could use as a ladder....I finally decided on an old cage. It would work if I turned it on its end, stood very carefully on the good wood (as opposed to standing on the termite infested parts) and have Edwin hold it steady so I didn't fall backward into the ravine.
Plan B worked....it took a lot of patience though. I had managed to get the boa's head..which he wasn't very happy about I might add..and part of the body. Now, I just had to keep pulling until the snake decided it was time to let go of the rafters. Finally, it let go...but, I didn't. Had fun taking some pics of the "little" guy and then put him in a sack so that it could be taken and released far away. I say little because, if you remember my first boa encounter, you will remember that one was very large. Edwin was grateful, Alejandro was just pissed off that a girl showed him up. (Suck it Alejandro, girls can do anything that a guy can do. Quit being so damn machisimo!)
| After getting this beauty out of the rafters. He was wrapped around the one sticking out up and to the right of me. |
| Edwin told me you had to be strong to capture this snake. That is him all nicely coiled around my hand.... I showed him who was stronger.... |
Haha the boys need to be shown who's boss! Beautiful pictures... Thank you for sharing with all of us (and making us all jealous!).
